Local Business Tax (Occupational Licenses)
Applications and Procedures
The Town of Fort Myers Beach provides the zoning approval for all Local Business Tax Account Applications, previously known as Occupational Licenses, for businesses located within the boundaries of the Town.  The applicant must receive the zoning approval before going to the Lee County Tax Collector and purchasing a local business tax receipt.  A local business tax receipt is issued by the Lee County Tax Collector in order to operate a business in the Town of Fort Myers Beach.  Anyone providing merchandise or services to the public in the Town of Fort Myers Beach, even a one-person company or home-based occupation, must obtain a Lee County business tax account in order to operate lawfully, unless specifically exempted.  Please click on the links below to download the procedures and applications for a Home Occupational License and a Commercial Use Permit.
