Caloosa Carvers at The Mound House host free public carving demonstrations on the first and third Tuesday of each month through tourism season from 9 a.m. to Noon. 

The next Caloosa Carvers Mound House program is on Tuesday, 
March 1 following by sessions on March
 15, before concluding for the year on April 5 and 19.

In addition to their free public demonstrations, these talented woodcarvers provide the Mound House with hands-on educational tools for school groups and the general public.

Volunteers needed to help in the Marine Resources Task Force booth at the Shrimp Festival


The Town's Marine Resource Task Force (MRTF) will be hosting its Pop-Up Environmental Education Booth at the Shrimp Festival at Lynn Hall Park on March 12 and 13. Local organizations and their volunteers are invited to help with this booth. Here is the schedule of openings:

Parking will be a challenge for this very popular event and volunteers are asked to arrive early and plan on traffic delays. A parking pass for town-owned parking spots will be supplied to volunteers. Parking will also be available within a ten minute walk from Lynn Hall Park.

Residents of Fort Myers Beach can receive parking permits for $25 a year that allow parking in the Town-operated spaces at Estero Island Beach Accesses, the areas under the Matanzas Pass Bridge, and Town Hall on weekends, holidays and week days after 4:30 p.m.

This week's Citizens Academy session featured tours of the Downtown District by van and Estero Island by boat. Special thanks to Good Time Charters out of Snook Bight Marina and Captains Ty and Lara!

This Academy is designed to inform and educate interested Fort Myers Beach residents about Town Government and the public services provided in their Town. This inaugural Academy has 16 participants.


Plans are for the Academy to become a regular occurrence. Watch this newsletter and the Town's website and social media outlets for details.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach seeks to contract with a qualified contractor to maintenance dredge to a depth of no more than seven feet below mean low water, removing approximately 6,600 cubic yards at Big Carlos Pass/Laguna Shores, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931 in Big Carlos Pass.
