hurrican season june 1-nov 30Hurricanes and other catastrophic events have the potential to cause significant widespread damage to the Town. Citizens can do their part to individually prepare for the impact of a hurricane or other emergency before the crisis occurs. 

Six ways to receive up to the minute information during hurricanes and other emergencies

  1. Sign up NOW to receive alerts from the Lee County Emergency Operations Center
  2. Sign up NOW for alerts from the Town of Fort Myers Beach Code Red system
  3. Sign up NOW to receive text and/or email alerts as they are posted on the Town of Fort Myers Beach website homepage
  4. Monitor the Town's Facebook and Twitter social media outlets
  5. Monitor local media and their social media outlets
  6. Monitor the social media outlets of Lee County and the Fort Myers Beach Fire District

Hurricane Re-Entry PassHurricane Re-Entry Passes are purple for residents and gold for businesses

PURPLE (residential) or YELLOW (business) re-entry passes, even though they are dated from previous years, will be VALID for this hurricane season.

Fort Myers Beach residents and business owners who are not registered for hurricane re-entry passes can submit an application. Residents will be allowed to receive up to two re-entry passes. Business owners will be allowed to receive three passes and property managers will receive one pass per five properties with a maximum of five.

If you do not have a previous year's re-entry pass, applications for these passes are accepted at Town Hall. Fill out the application, download it and print it out, then come by Town Hall at 2525 Estero Boulevard to drop off the application and receive the pass. Application

The application is required as well as supporting documents. Photo identification and proof of residency are required. The owner, tenant and business should have two of the following: driver’s license, vehicle registration, voter registration, utility bill, business tax bill, company letter, occupational license or lease.

Emergency Notification System

The Town uses the CODE RED notification system to warn residents, business owners, and property CodeRED_Resident_Postcard_TTEowners of emergencies, like hurricane evacuations or boil water notices. Emergency notifications will be sent three different ways: via a recorded message to a phone line, a text message to a cell phone, and/or a message to an email address. Residents, business owners, and property owners are encouraged to sign up with a home phone number, a cell phone number, and/or an email address.
